This is my favorite quote right now. It conjures up a very clear image as well as feelings of strength and grit.
At some point you are “Thrown to the wolves” or sent to school, work, or university. You have to figure things out for yourself time and time again.
As a child I certainly did not always lead the pack, nor was I a good follower. More the lone wolf. Now I spend time cycling in a pack, being alpha at work, and lone when it suits me.
Look at the pack each wolve’s role from an emotional need point of view:
The pack leader often has a higher need for achievement or success, a pack member has a need of love and belonging, a lone wolf needs more peace or control. Imagine a pack of wolves and that lone wolf, do you think they often change roles? Not likely.
As conscious human beings we can choose our position in the community. What do you choose? Where do you fit in?
