When you look at a new baby, you don’t place too many judgements on it, maybe cute or not cute. When that baby becomes a toddler and is crying you may think that something is wrong with the parent or child. You may begin to place judgement on the cause of crying. Now imagine he’s now a feisty teen, and now a full grown man.
The older a person gets the more expectations and judgments that we put on them. We are all born perfect whole and complete for everything that we are and everything that we are not. That doesn’t change. Our view changes, we put on darker and more colored glasses through which we see and judge the world and the people in it.
Try this:
The next time you see somebody being upset or in a way that upsets you, get curious.
Give that person the space they need to express whatever it is that is there and don’t judge them, every time you feel the judgement, put it to the side. Imagine taking off the glasses and seeing the perfect newborn baby. Create the space for that person to be everything that they are and everything that they are not.
Stay curious. You will experience the same old people in your life in a new way.
Please let me know what you see, feel, and hear.
